June & July 2016

Michael bought Logan a Kendama from Japan.
This is Logan pretending that he is a unicorn
(not the way this toy is intended to be played).
North Vancouver's Canada Day Parade was great.

We went to UBC's botanical gardens to
check-out their Treetop walk.
Nice way to stay cool in the shade,
but very rickety!!
A nice evening on our North Shore waterfront.
Logan was happy to point out his contribution on a huge
wall mural that his class helped paint.
Every Friday night at the N.Van shipyard, there is
a night market.  There are vendors, entertainment and
over 40 Food Trucks!
Nice pic of your parents, Logan!
Having some fun on the field across from
where we live.
A history lesson and a fun afternoon.

No luck while panning for gold.

First part of 2016 (Happy New Year!)

A crisp walk home on a Friday afternoon.
"Mom, can Westin come and play?"
A cozy night in watching a movie.
Like father, like son.
 Happy Birthday Nana!
Wearing green from head to toe (yes, they had green socks on!).
Happy St. Patricks Day!
We turned off our electricity on March 19th
for Earth Hour!

Christmas 2015

This year, the North Pole was held in Abbotsford.
There were lots of activities for the kids.
Thanks Yvette!
Our 2015 Christmas tree.

Family Photo Shoot November 2015

Logan's school held a fundraiser.  A Professional Photographer, who happens to be a parent at the school, offered his services for a day.  Each family could book a 15 min. time slot for $40.
The fundraiser was a huge success.  We were pleased with all our photos.
We were encouraged to bring our own props.

Halloween 2015

Logan chose to dress as Harry Potter this year.
Michael carved a "Harry Potter" pumpkin.
Michael dressed as Orko, a character from He-man
(a cartoon from the 80's).
All the trick-or-treaters were treated to a dry evening.

Logan's 9th Birthday Minecraft Party

For the second year, Logan agreed to postpone his
Birthday Party until September (once school returns).
His request was for a Minecraft Party.
I spent many hours on Pintrest looking for ideas.

As the children arrived, we took their picture.
Here is Logan with his Stampy mask and his diamond sword.
It didn't take long for the photo bombing to occur.
Poor Westin has no idea!
All the games were made as you cannot buy
"Minecraft" merchandise in the store.
Game #1 was the Creeper Ball Toss.
Game #2  Nerf Gun Target Shoot.
Giving Nerf guns to boys and expecting them to wait
their turn, didn't happen.  Also the wind would cause the
targets to move.  Mike was responsible for fetching the
spent amo.  He got "accidentally" shot a couple of times.
Game #3 The Popcorn Relay Race was a big hit.
Paper cups filled with Popcorn were attached to shoes with
an elastic.  They had to make their way to their team box and
empty their cups into the box without using their hands.
Team Creeper won!
Game #4 Minecraft Bingo.  Surprisingly, the kids all
sat and really enjoyed playing 5 games of Bingo.
Friendly posing and chasing whomever was wearing the
Creeper became a game as the games were winding down.
I was pleased how the Minecraft Cake turned out.
The kids thought it was really cool, however, not many
kids like or eat chocolate cake....
Logan opened his gifts and everyone got a big
laugh out of Max's joke card to Logan.  It was a
turning 5 Barbie card (his real card had dinosaurs)!
Logan received many cool books and Minecraft
toys.
Kids brought their bikes or scooters and played in the parking lot waiting
for their pick-up.  The game quickly turned into chase the creeper.
Loot bags were a hit!

First day of School

Our long stretch of beautiful sunny weather came to an end.
The long awaited rains have replenished our water reservoirs.
It seems as if Autumn started instantly.
With Autumn comes the first day of school.
Logan is excited to start Grade 4!

EA Annual Summer Party!

We were all able to attend the Annual Summer Party at EA!
Logan loved the bumper cars!

The line up for the "balloon ladies" was soooo long.
Logan is lucky to have a Mom willing to stand in line while
he continued on the rides.
What a great event!
