Week 25

Not very much to report this week. Logan continues to get used to Rice Cereal. We've uped the amount to two times a day. Next week we'll most likely start a veggie, sweet potatoe!
No teeth yet!

Finally Sunshine

It's hard to see because of the beautiful sun shining on his face, but in the first picture Logan has a big pout as if to say, "I was getting used to all that rain. Where did it go?" The second picture describes how everyone in Vancouver felt today. I believe we had 21 out of the last 24 days of rain. Apparently the all the different seawalls and parks all over the city were so busy with people being outdoors. We enjoyed a lovely walk in Grandpop & Linda's neighbourhood, Pemberton Heights.

Week 24

Our persistance at the Rice Cereal seems to have paid off. I believe Logan prefers a thicker consitancy. All the better for sticking to noses and cheeks. He is almost sitting on his own now.

I believe Logan's teething is beginning. His naps during the day don't last longer than 40 mins. now. He still manages 10 hours at night (thank goodness). He was quite good at getting himself off to sleep in his crib without much rocking. Now he seems crankier when it's time to go down to sleep, not able to settle himself. "No, I don't want the soother, my fingers are much better, mmm. Wait, where is the soother?" back and forth until sleep washes over as if in an instant, click! - Goodnight Logan Berry.

Our Accident

On February 24th we were involved in a serious car accident. We delayed posting this picture until my Mom returned from her trip visiting my sister. The lady driving the car that hit us was completely 100% at fault. She T-boned us when she lost control of her vehicle as she was merging onto Hwy 1. I believe Michael's quick thinking saved us from being hit head on. We were sent into the ditch. Fortunately we didn't roll and most importantly, we are all OK! ICBC estimates the damage to Michael's car to be $9,000. The body shop thinks that their quote is optomistic. Logan now has a new car seat to replace the one involved in the accident. A big thank-you to Michael's Mom & Dad for picking us up somewhere near Fort Langley (we were heading out to Chilliwack to visit Michael's sister's new place) and driving us home to North Van.

Week 23 - Seven months old.

Logan is now 7 months old. It seems he's changing or doing something new each day. He's this close to sitting on his own. His abs are sure getting a good workout with all his efforts.

It was a big morning as we fed Logan his first serving of rice cereal. I would have loved to know what he was thinking after his first few tastes. I think we attempted 5 or 6 spoonfulls before we stopped. He was really just pushing the cereal back out with his tongue. We'll keep trying each day. Apparently it'll just click and he'll get the hang of it. We have time!!

Week 22

Logan got his new car seat this week. Wow, it's huge and takes a lot of room in my VW while it is rear facing. It has to remain rear facing for another 3.5 months. It may need to get switched into Michael's Mazda. He'll have this one now for many years.

Mirror, mirror on the wall....

Week 21

Logan did a new trick this week. He rolled from his back to his front. (Previously, he'd rolled from his tummy to his back.)
He's perfecting his technique for blowing raspberries.
The shreiking has tapered off for the time being but returns when he gets excited.

Thank goodness for the weekend and Mike being home. I had a high temp. (39.2C) on Tuesday evening and the flu/a cold the rest of the week. My lack of energy made looking after Logan challenging. Mike has been a STAR looking after Logan and me when he gets home. So far Mike and Logan haven't gotten sick!
