Pictures from the week

Night time isn't Logan's best time. He resists falling asleep which is weird as he has no problems for his two daytime naps.
Logan was contently playing with his toys so I made a dash to the washroom. When I returned I found he had crawled into his exersaucer and was rolling his little round ball toys in the sloping, ridged bottom.
On Friday night we were invited to Grandpop and Linda's for a BBQ. Logan enjoyed spending time with Grandpop looking at the birds in the garden.

Week 37

Not much to report from the past week. Logan enjoyed many walks while we had beautiful weather. He pulls himself up to standing in his crib and on furniture. He doesn't move laterally yet. In fact he'll start to moan after he's been standing for a while and that usually signals that he doesn't want to stand anymore. It's like he gets stuck. Other times he has no problems falling to his bum to move on to something different.
We've put up the baby gates this week as the kitchen has too many interesting things to play with. The computer cabinet is in the kitchen as Logan's room was the computer room. We had to move the wine rack into the kitchen as he kept making a bee-line for it and would pull the bottles out. When we would give a stern "No Logan!" he'd just turn, look and smile at us.

Father's Day 2007

Logan's gift to Michael on Father's Day. He painted it himself.

Our Father's Day got off to a late start due to Logan's 2.5 hour nap after lunch time.
We used a offer from the Capilano Suspension Bridge for free admission. It was a great afternoon. Michael & I both visited the bridge when we were younger and were amazed at all the things they have added to the attraction. The huge tree that fell onto the bridge during those wind storms in Dec., lay next to the bridge.
Logan seemed to be a magnet for all the asian tourists.
We attempted to introduce Logan to a new taste this evening. Puréed ground beef. He tried 3 spoonfuls and gagged, sputtered and flinched with each. We didn't push it. Perhaps we'll try it again in the future mixed with something

Week 36 ----> 10 months old

Logan had his check-up with the doctor. Everything is well. But my, we have a bruiser.....21 lbs! That's up 3 lbs. from his last visit 2 months ago. He went up a cm. in head circumfrence and total body length in 2 months.

Logan is a busy baby. Crawling like crazy. On carpet or tile, he doesn't slow down (those poor knees). He's pulling himself up onto his knees and today I turned and he had pulled himself to standing. Very wobbly however. I must say, when he bonks his head, falls over or does a face plant when his arms and legs don't go fast enough while he's crawling, he doesn't cry each time. Don't get me wrong. He's had some good bonks of the head that have sent him crying.

Teeth count remains at 2.

Logan liked the taste of the tropics. He did pull a sour face for his first taste of mango. I think they weren't the ripest they could have been. The Papaya was popular. I've got some organic ground beef that I will prepare for his next new taste.

We met a new little friend this week. On one of our walks in the neighbourhood, I got chatting to the Mom of 1 year old Olivia. Logan and her have the same stroller. Perhaps we'll meet them again for a walk.

Stay tuned for the surprise Logan has for Father's Day....

Please sir, may I have some more?

Logan seems to enjoy his taste of the tropics. The Papaya was a success. As we were driving to Park Royal, we saw the fruit stand tables set up for another season of local and Okanagan fruit. Oh Logan, just wait till you taste the cherries. Yummy!

Week 35

Logan really loves his stories before bed.
Michael bought this shirt for Logan. All you D & D fans will recognize the character sheet. Check-out how high his charisma is.
We've lowered Logan's crib mattress to the lower setting as he's beginning to pull himself up on things including in his crib. The babyproofing continues....

Popeye the Sailor Man

Call me "Popeye"! He downed his Spinach with a little bit on convincing. I don't think it is a favorite.

Play time

He's off!

Week 34

The crawling officially started on Monday, May 28th (our 2nd Wedding Anniversary). He began wobbly but improves his technique each day. He seems to make a b-line for our shoes!?! He doesn't quite know what to make of the tiled floor at our enterance. He prefers sticking to the carpet.
He's sleeping better these past few nights.
Logan is officially a carnivore. He now eats chicken mixed with applesauce (for the sweetness). We've got spinach waiting to be sampled next. Then we'll head to the tropics for mango and papaya.
